Unique!
From the starting to the end Dorohedoro has been so unique in almost every way that you just want to keep watching and see what happens next.
The world is so different, so violent and so mysterious, but so believable. The world building in Dorohedoro is fantastic.
Caiman has a lizard head, why?
– Dunno.
There’s another person inside Caiman’s mouth, what’s that about?
– No clue.
What is happening?
– Sure hope we’ll find out.
There are so many things that aren’t explained in the story, but it all adds to the mystery element, only making us more engaged in the story. Seeing people live normal happy lives even as the whole world looks like it’s coming apart around them also adds character to the show.
Writing: Very good. The characters are so easy to like and world build around them so easy to believe.
World Building: While mysterious, brutal and chaotic, the world that been crafted is very well made. Caiman has spikes on his head so when he sleeps, the pillow sticks to his head. Caiman also brushes his lizard teeth just as normal people do. The main characters have normal jobs, hobbies and lives just as any normal person would have. The
Excitement: The main characters are not invulnerable at all. There is a very real risk of something really bad happening to one of them, and because of this there are no fights where you can just sit back and enjoy the show, something serious could happen in the next 30 minutes.
Sound: Excellent. Excellent dubbing too.
Music: Great. But some songs have meaningless lyrics with words thrown together seemingly at random.
Age Restricted: Yes. A guy dies a very gruesome death in the first 3 minutes of the show. It will give you an idea of what sort of violence to expect from the rest of the show.
Should you watch it?
– If you can stomach some blood and violence, then yes.
