An extremely well animated, well dubbed, well choreographed and well directed waste of my time.
It didn’t matter how well every other piece was crafted, at the end of the day the story was mediocre and was told poorly told. Almost every episode felt like a filler episode, only slightly aiding to progress the story. More focus was instead paid to making cool looking action sequences.
The series is still on-going. Maybe the next few episodes will make it all worth it. But presently I wouldn’t feel the need to recommend the series to anyone.
I can’t really figure out what’s wrong though. Something similar was done in John Wick, it was a splendid success, and I really loved it too. Maybe it was the feeling that the main characters were in no real risk of death or serious injury. I never felt much excitement or fear during the fights.
There was a sequence where a main character almost lost an arm, you would be shocked for a quick second, after which you would remember again that nothing serious would ever happen to the main characters. The crew would jump into dangerous situations left and right as if nothing could hurt them.
It was quite well animated though. All the background characters had were pretty well written too. It’s just that most of the episodes felt unnecessary.
